Welcome to the Foyle Presbytery website

The Foyle Presbytery is one of the Presbyteries that will be disappearing in March 2009.  Rev Alan Wilson of Ballykelly, shown above, is its last Moderator.

As the name 'Foyle' suggests, the Presbytery has the Foyle estuary to its west and runs from Limavady to Donemana. It touches on Londonderry (eg Glendermott congregation) although the city belongs to the Derry and Strabane Presbytery.
Foyle was an amalgamation of the Glendermott and Limavady Presbyteries.
To our east we have the Coleraine Presbytery.

In March 2009, Foyle will be divided.  Congregations to the east of Banagher (Banagher included) will join the Coleraine Presbytery, whereas in the west, the Donegal Presbytery, the top end of the Derry and Strabane Presbytery, including Strabane, and the western wing of Foyle will combine to form a new Presbytery covering a very culturally diverse geographical area, running from the Gaeltacht in the far north, right down into parts of Counties Londonderry and Tyrone.  The Clerk of the Presbytery, Rev Dr Stewart Jones, is minister of Donemana.  He would be the normal contact person.  Email: stewart@donemana.orangehome.co.uk

The Presbytery has many interests - virtually anything that effects the local area, although its primary interest is the spiritual well being of its congregations.
